Sophie (Kassim) Sanders is a certified Baptiste yoga teacher who is passionate about building a yoga community. She was originally drawn to yoga because she wanted to able to touch her toes, but she soon realised that yoga was more than just a stretch and a workout but a way for her to be flexible in her mind as well as in her body.
Sophie is a world class yoga teacher with a passion for Baptiste Yoga and creating community. She brings joy and humour to her classes while keeping her students focused and challenged to meet their greatest potential.
Her ideal world would be free of frogs and where hugs, smiles and pure dancing are in abundant supply.
Sophie currently leads group classes under AMI Power Yoga and Alpha Balance. She has assisted New Angle Yoga in their Power to Lead 200 Hours teacher-training programs and recently completed an apprentice program with the Baptiste Institute.
She is all about helping non-yogis find their true self through the practice of yoga by infusing joy and love with a drop of mindfulness, on and off the mat.
She is a Tier 1 Certified Baptiste Yoga Teacher and did her 200 hour Power Vinyasa and Yin Teacher Training with Power Living. She’s also certified in Stotts Mat Pilates since 2013 and has over five years’ experience in teaching women how to move sensuously and be confident about themselves though the ART OF EXOTIC DANCE.

SOPHIE SANDERS IS A TEACHER, A STUDENT AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN.
Her first passion has always been dance, her earliest memory was when at 9, whilst waiting for her music class to start, she will try to come a little earlier to watch the ballet girls in pink tutus, prancing around at the studio next door. Then in college, she danced and won her first dance competition.
Her “formal” training only started at the age of 21, when with her first pay cheque, she signed up for dance classes at a local studio. She’s danced everything from jazz, hip hop, salsa, exotic dance, pole and zumba. And in fact, she was one of the pioneer Exotic Dance instructors under “thebodytalks” which was the first studio that introduced exotic dance and pole dancing to the female masses in Singapore.
She has performed in various salsa congresses in Malaysia, Philippines, Los Angeles and New York; taught/performed for Club Med Bali/Bintan, performed in the Chingay Parade (various years) and National Day Parade 2009 to name a few.
Fast forward to 2011, because of a hamstring injury, she signed up for Yoga and Pilates to try to heal herself and get more flexible. But her mindset (and her life) changed after attending the Baptiste 40 days Power to Personal Revolution program. She discovered her Dharma and made the choice to quit her 12 year job so she can be the best teacher she can be by teaching more.
Today her lifelong goal is to love herself more and share as much as her love for movement to everyone. She’s devoted to make other people smile and she is here to remind you that the world will not end when you stop to smell the flowers and to take care of yourself. As a a perpetual student, she is continuously inspired by her teachers and as teacher, her students inspire her to keep teaching.
Sophie is known for her patience and her fear of frogs. She combines her passion of empowering women through body language, with her love for yoga, pilates and dance, and delivers a unique spin for moving the body with more awareness and heart.
