The AMI Yoga Book Club is created to bring people together and connect over a good book and yoga. The books of choice are transformative and will require you to be curious and be in inquiry.
We promise that it will not be intimidating - instead it’s like hanging out and talking through your ideas with great company.. Even if you do not have anything to contribute, your presence and energy will be valuable to the community.
We will meet once a month and expect to stay 2-2.5 hours. Location will be in the vicinity of Novena/Newton area. Each monthly meet will begin with a social session, followed by the book discussion and will end with a energising vinyasa flow. Light snacks/tea will be provided. Pot luck is more than welcome!
For the first meeting, we will delve into Baron Baptiste’s Being of Power.
You are responsible to buy or borrow the books.
If you choose not to purchase or you have not finished reading, you may still join our monthly meets.
But it will be helpful to read or have a copy for reflection during discussion and as a reference for your continued yoga practice.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
Yogis and Non-yogis, basically anyone and everyone who is interested in reading (or re-reading) books relevant to the practice of yoga off the mat.
Also great for those who struggle to find the motivation to read. It's been proven that having a deadline and an encouraging community might be the push you need!

Other than that there are no rules. We all read at our own pace. And you do not have to finish reading to attend the monthly meets.
We do encourage that you fix a time to read, for example half and hour before bed. Also have a journal and pen on hand to write down your thoughts and/or anything that inspires you.

WHAT TO BRING FOR THE MONTHLY MEETS?
- Journal and pen
- Yoga mat/strap/Yoga block
- Towels for asana practice
- Bottled water
- Potluck if so desired; we will provide light snacks and tea.
